How to stay safe while using MatchWell and meeting in person

Effective: January 1, 2026Last Updated: December 28, 2025Version: v2025-12-28

Before You Meet

  • Let your Twin have multiple conversations before committing to meet.
  • Use Voice Bridge to hear their real voice first.
  • Don’t feel pressured to meet early; photo reveal occurs after 3 Twin dates.
  • Keep conversations on-platform until comfortable.
  • Be wary of pressure to move off-platform or share personal info.

Watch for Red Flags

  • Inconsistencies flagged by your Twin.
  • Evasion, too-good-to-be-true claims, or money requests.
  • Never send money to someone you have not met in person.

When You Meet

  • Meet in public places; choose locations you know.
  • Tell a friend where you’re going; share who you’re meeting.
  • Arrange your own transportation so you can leave anytime.
  • Limit alcohol; never leave drinks unattended; stay aware.
  • Trust your instincts—leave if something feels wrong.

Protecting Your Information

  • Don’t share home/work address early; be cautious with last names.
  • Never share financial information.
  • Check photos for identifiable locations or sensitive info.

Avoid Scams

  • Never send money, investments, or loans.
  • Report scam attempts immediately.
  • If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Reporting Concerns

  • Use in-app report tools on profiles or conversations.
  • Email safety@matchwell.ai for serious concerns.
  • Block users to prevent further contact.
  • Contact local law enforcement if in immediate danger.
